The Problem
Privilee is a luxury lifestyle membership app offering exclusive access to Dubai's five-star beach clubs and premium gyms. The app faced a critical problem: 70% of new users dropped out during onboarding.
The initial hypothesis: The app needed more features.
The real problem: Users didn't understand what they were getting.
My Approach
Instead of adding features, I diagnosed the real problem through user research.
I conducted 28 interviews and discovered:
Users didn't understand what Privilee offered
Onboarding was confusing and took too long (five steps)
Users couldn't find nearby venues
Users didn't know how to book activities
My strategic approach:
Simplify onboarding (from five steps to one)
Show value immediately
Enable seamless discovery and booking
Build trust through transparency

We cut unnecessary steps and focused on communicating value.
By removing friction from the onboarding experience, we made users want to complete it. This single decision unlocked 400% growth.
